Empowering Kids Camp
Welcome to our spring break outdoor learning adventure week.
We are very excited to be exploring a new location with much to discover. As facilitators we will be fostering a real connection to nature through a freely chosen and intrinsically motivated curriculum. The weeks will be full of exploration starting each morning with meditation and intention setting at our base camp. The small heated shelter will provide us the space to store our belongings as well as gather to start and end our day.
What will the children do?
Explore, run, hike, sit, and meditate -identify and discover nature, things they see and feel in the world around them -embrace the weather and changes daily, wind, rain, sun. We're going to build forts, enjoy nature crafts, use some tool (depending on child, interest and ability), help develop confidence and nurture curiosity and build friendships!
What does my child need to bring?
Children should: bring a lunch and snacks (that don’t need to be heated up), dress appropriately for the weather daily, dress in clothes that can get dirty and wet . At the beginning of the week please send a backpack (labeled) with extra toques, mitts, sweater, pants/splash pants, socks, shirts, shoes/rubber boots. Backpack will be left at the camp and used as needed.
